Mon District celebrated its Teacher's Day at council hall, Mon HQ organized by Department of Education with C. Shanavas, IAS, ADC Mon as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, C. Shanavas said he remembers his teachers who worked in bringing him up to be a good person. He said teachers are the selfless minds of a nation in bringing up the future generations. He also said there are two very important persons which are doctors as they bring back life with medicine and the other teachers for they create life of a person. Therefore, he added that being a teacher is a biggest award itself while congratulating the district teacher awardees. He urged the teachers to teach and love the students irrespective of their standard and the students to love and respect the teachers. Twelve teachers received the District Teacher award.
Pfutsero: A combined Teacher’s Day celebration was held at Pfutsero organized by Pfutsero Town Schools Association (PTSA) with Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change Neiba Kronu as the chief guest.
While appreciating the PTSA for organizing the event in a grand manner, he reminisced about 2014 when he and his wife had attended the 1st PTSA organized teachers day and committed financial assistance to the PTSA for awarding deserving teachers and meritorious students every year.
He reiterated his commitment for this cause till he is the elected leader of the 16th A/C Pfutsero. He lamented the sorry state of infrastructure and teachers position in other parts of Nagaland and said that Pfutsero area students were lucky that they have got dedicated teachers and good infrastructure. He said the govt. recognition of Pfutsero Govt. College, up-gradation of Govt. High School Pfutsero to Govt. Higher Secondary School and construction of new classrooms for both has been done recently. He also informed the gathering that opening of a science stream college for Pfutsero has been approved and the skill development centre will be functional by next year.
The programme was chaired by Rev. Yiepetso Wezah, principal Baptist Theological College while welcome address was delivered by Mese Kapfo SDEO Pfutsero. The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Thekho Rova, secretary PTSA.
Tuensang: Tuensang District celebrated Teachers' Day at Government Higher Secondary School Auditorium, Tuensang Town. Executive Secretary, CBLT, A. Jonathan, exhorting the gathering said, the event marks the contribution and dedication of teachers for the students, and is aimed to show love and respect for the teachers. Pastor, KBC, Tuensang, S. Mono said the invocation prayer. Other highlights of the programme included a play by students from Christian Hills School, special songs by students of Trinity School and GHSS, Thangjam, and choreography by St. John Hr. Sec School. SDEO, Noklak, Marnungba delivered the vote of Thanks.
Zunheboto: Zunheboto District celebrated Teachers’ Day at Town Hall, Zunheboto with SDO (C) Sadar, Temjennaro Longkumer as the chief guest where ten teachers were awarded with District Level Teachers’ Award for 2017. SDEO, Zunheboto, Nitoli Khulu, delivered the welcome address. Cornerstone Higher Secondary School presented a special song, while power point presentation on ‘Swaach Bharat and Technology: Promises and Challenges’ was presented by students from Love Dale Higher Secondary School. Students from Woodland Higher Secondary School, GMS, South Point East and Eden Garden School delivered speeches on behalf of the students. Students of Olympic Higher Secondary School, Step by Step School and Shovishe Memorial Government High School made special appearances. Pastor, ZTSBC, Dr. Daniel Chishi blessed the teachers in the programme.
Mokokchung: On the occasion of Teachers Day, a programme was organized by the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) at Town Hall, Mokokchung on September 5. Rtd. Commissioner & Secretary, Government of Nagaland, Thangi Mannen was the special guest. Short speeches were delivered by ADC & Administrator, Mokokchung and Dy. DEO, Mokokchung. Keynote address was delivered by President, AKM while, special prayer was said by Rev. Ponen. In the programme nine District Teachers Awardees were felicitated by AKM and four students received the IMF Award from the Ao Senden Literature Board.
Longleng: In Longleng, District Level Teacher’s Day was observed at Bautung GHSS Auditorium, organized by the Department of School Education Longleng district. All together 8 teachers received District Level Teachers Award. SDEO Longleng S. Bendang Longkumer spoke at the programme. Earlier, invocation was proposed by S. Tanlei, Associate Pastor (LTBC) while welcome address was pronounced by C. Henow Phom Principal GHSS Longleng. Special number by Christian High School, Group song by St. Joseph High School and presentation of District Teachers Awards by A. Shamthai Head Mistress GHSS Longleng were the high lights of the daylong celebration.
