Teachers vital in protecting child’s right

Kiphire district today celebrated Teacher’s Day with Mezivolu T Therierh, NJS as the chief guest at Hopongkyu Memorial hall.  

Addressing the gathering of students, teachers and officers, the chief guest shared her experience as a student and said that it is teachers who shape and mound the students and asked the teachers to be a role model for students so that they become responsible citizens in society.  

She said that there is no profession which teachers do not teach and salute the teaching community in the district for shouldering the responsible to make the children a backbone of the society.  

Touching on the role of teachers in protecting the right of the children, the chief guest also said, “teachers should know the need of a child” and added, “this days times are changing and we need to be aware to face the problem faced by the students so that they become a responsible citizen for the society.”  

She also gave away the award for Kiphire District Private Schools Society District Topper in HSLC 2017 to Khundili Y sangtam of Loyola Higher secondary school with cash and certificate and also handed over the award to ten teachers who were selected for district award.  

Special song, choreography and dance were the other highlight of the programme.
