Dimapur, April 9 (MExN): The Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) Secretary & Team Leader, T. Mhabemo Yanthan along with the team members made four-day field visit from April 4 to 7 to Mokokchung, Longleng, Mon and Tuensang district.
The objective of the tour was to monitor and evaluate the scenario of beekeeping in the project areas and to access feasibility in creating and developing a sustainable marketing strategy of honey by providing essential technical and promotional services to the beekeepers that spread throughout the State.
During the tour, the Secretary & Team Leader also inaugurated Common Facility Centre (CFC) at Yangching (Longleng), Wangshu (Mon) and Konya (Tuensang) constructed under NEC scheme during 2016-17. The main purpose of creating these CFCs is to serve as honey outlet point with a facility for collection, home-scale processing, storage, bottling/packaging to ensure quality standard and increase market value of Honey in the particular village.
