PHEK, AUGUST 13 (MExN): Anguished over poor internet connectivity and service in the state particularly in Phek district, Nagaland’s CAWD & Taxes advisor Kudecho Khamo said Nagaland is one of the worst in terms of telecom services in the country.

He said the service provider company should either be removed or provide quality service adding that crores of people’s money have been taken without providing the assured service which is also a crime.

He said this while speaking during the monthly meeting of Phek District Planning & Development Board on August 10 at DPDB Conference Hall, Phek.

“When the nation is talking about digital India, the state is very far behind,” he said.

Due to poor telecom services in the state, Khamo said public have been facing untold inconveniences and hardships.

Urging the service providers to address the issue, he assured that the district administration and the legislators will give their full support whenever necessary so that the best network service is provided at least in the district.

Kumar Ramnikant, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of DPDB Phek chaired the meeting.

He asked all the committees of the 50th Years celebration of Phek district to submit their respective budgets at the earliest for necessary action.

During the meeting, power point presentations were made by Department of Urban Development Phek, Police Administration Phek, and the Telecom department (Jio, BSNL, Airtel) deliberated on their activities being undertaken.

Cekhwulhu Nakro, sub division engineer (Grp) BSNL Phek in his presentation pointed out that irregularity of commercial power supply in the district has affected the service.

Despite the first priority to provide quality service, he said, the telecom service has faced problems due to lack of departmental store and shortage of technical staff.

Nagaland’s New & Renewable Energy and Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority advisor Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe and MLA Dr Niesatuo Mero were also present at the meeting.
