TGOUN receives Torch Bearer University of the Year Award

Dimapur, September 28 (MExN): New Delhi based ‘Rethink India’, a national level think-tank intellectual organization conferred upon The Global Open University Nagaland (TGOUN), the Torch Bearer University of the Year Award 2017 on the occasion of the World Tourism Day celebrations organized at SCOPE Auditorium New Delhi.  

A press note released by Martoshi, Head, Protocol and Planning stated that the National Award was received jointly by the Vice Chancellor Dr. H. N. Dutta and the Registrar Dr. Imotemsu Ao in the presence of national and international dignitaries from the fields of ecological tourism, diplomacy, international relations, hotel management, catering technology and applied nutrition.  

Appreciating the noble efforts of the Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology established at The Global Open University Nagaland in 2007, the High Commissioner of Seychelles, Philippe Le Gall said that he would like to visit Nagaland for perusing the facilities for informing the Ministry of Tourism, Government of Seychelles for a possible tie-up and signing the MoU for mutual and technical cooperation between Nagaland and Seychelles.

The Department of Hotel Management and Catering Technology of The Global Open University Nagaland was selected for this reputed award in the light of its contribution by way of providing 100% placement to all the boys and girls completing their Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management and Catering Technology successfully.  

It may be mentioned that the training kitchen, the training restaurant and other related teaching and training infrastructure in the area of tourism and hotel management at this University is one of the best in the country. The students generally get attracted from all the North-Eastern States in general and from the State of Nagaland in particular.  

‘Rethink India’ and its Search Committee selected this University as the alumnus of Hotel Management Course are working all over the World in super five star delux hotel establishments.
