Kiphire, January 15 (MExN): Thangthure Village held its 9th general citizen’s meeting from January 3 to 5 at Thangthure village under the chairmanship of Horangse Anar.
On the occasion, EAC Meluri Tsalumse Ayonger emphasised on maintaining cordial relations with neighbouring villages and being positive, helpful, cooperative, and friendly so as to bring permanent peace and tranquillity. He also encouraged the villagers to adopt just and clean election for the development and a brighter future.
According to a press release received on Saturday, Ayonger urged the denizens to empower women’s participation in all aspects of society while calling upon the students to be role models and champions of the future.
Meanwhile, cultural guest of honour Tsipongse V Anar encouraged the villagers to place importance of their rich culture which were inherited from their ancestors.
During the session, traditional folk dances were also presented by the men and women of Thangthure village as well as the Thangthure Village Union of Kiphire town.
The new office bearers for the tenure of 2022-26 were also inducted with Thritsali Ayonger as Chairperson, Vitsathrong Ayonger as Vice Chairperson, Selicho Thonger as General Secretary, and Yangse Anar as Assistant General Secretary.
