The tribals of Manipur have long struggled for their rights but to no avail. Now the time has come to choose the candidates and the party that would stand for the tribals. The tribals have made IBOBI an international name, while he was a mere crafty exploiter. It is time now to decide our own destiny. In December 2011 at Senapati, NPF President, Dr. Shurhozelie, said that the forthcoming Manipur election was “an opportunity for the tribals in Manipur to decide. In the 20 assembly seats in the hills areas of Manipur if all tribals unite they could become tremendous force”. This is the time to stand up for a party that will stand for the tribals and protect their rights and their land.
NPF stands for tribal people of Manipur and for the Nagas in particular. We have seen what the incumbent party has done for the tribals, dividing, putting one against another. Development has been denied to the hills and tribal areas since 1971 statehood. Enough is enough! We the People Decide NOW.
We hate no one but we cannot lose our identity nor be generous at the cost of our honor. Your one vote is a powerful weapon. You have a choice NOW of what you want to see happen for the coming five years. Put your vote where you want to be secure. It is not the time to think of family or relations, while larger issues of the land and rights of tribals are concern. When we secure our land and our rights, we secure our future. The choice is open NOW. Change your destiny by your single vote. Use the weapon of your one vote. You can change the destiny of your people by your powerful ONE VOTE.
