Some notorious Naga leaders led their Naga people to fight against each other in the past more than thirty years and it is continued up to date. Till date, the Nagas cannot come out of the dungeon from where they are killing, condemning, cursing and hatred each other. Since starting of killing among the Naga brothers, Church leader and public leaders tirelessly worked for reconciliation among the Naga brothers, but none of them could afford to stop the killings or bring national unity. When they worked more for peace, all the more killings were going on. All the Nagas know something has gone wrong, but no one attempt to research what has gone wrong and also attempt to work for the truth and justice. So, in Nagaland there is no third party who could speak the truth because the dictators threatened them not to speak the truth. If they cannot deliver the truth and justice how can they work for peace. I told to a religious leader who has been working for peace that even if peace makers are terrified to speak the truth they should not believe false propaganda of renegade leaders as gospel truth.
I also asked him that “do you think Nagaland as a nation? He said; Yes, Nagaland is a nation. Again I asked, do you think Nagaland has failed or surrendered to India? He said; no! Nagaland has not failed, so we are defending our sovereignty. Your answers are right, but renegade leaders said Nagaland has failed. Yes, Nagaland is a nation and it has not failed. And has its national Government known as Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) since 1956 which was formed by the Naga leaders (Angami, Chakhesang, Ao, Sema, Lotha, Chang, Sangtam, Khiamniungan, Konyak etc.) led by dynamic Naga leader A.Z. Phizo, and the Naga people had celebrated its Golden Jubilee on 22nd March 2006. Why then the Nagas need to have another new Naga national government according to the resolutions you made in the Reconciliation meeting of August 2011. Your principle, to reconcile on the basis of historical and political right of the Nagas is good, but your resolution is contrary to your slogan. If the work is not match with the word you express, the word itself becomes only a deceiving word to the Naga people. And the deceiving word is not the way to reconciliation. Today the Nagas are facing untold sufferings in the hands of our own people, because the renegade leaders strayed away from the Naga national stand and from the historical background of Nagaland, and they are deceiving Naga people.
The renegade leaders however do not admit their misdeed till date and are claiming they are right. Thus they projected right as wrong and nationalists as traitors. Indeed the problem among the Nagas can easily be solved if the renegade leaders have admitted they have done wrong. But instead they have been trying to justify their misdeed by killings innocent Nagas. The Nagas are therefore needed to have a third party who could deliver the truth and justice to them. If such truth and fact is delivered, then only the Nagas will be freed from the dungeon of hatred and enmity, and killing among the Nagas can be stopped from then on. Jesus said “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free”. (John 8: 32). Therefore to deliver the truth by the third party is the need of hour for the larger interest of Naga people, and that will be indeed the true Journey of Common Hope.
God bless Nagaland.
