Dimapur, November 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Theological Colleges Association (NTCA) has condemned the killing of Noghuvi K Sumi, a final-year Bachelor of Theology student. Noghuvi, son of the late Khetovi Sumi from Shevishe village and resident of Aghunato town, was killed, an act that NTCA described as “vicious” and an assault on the “right to live.”
In a statement issued by NTCA President Dr Alem Sangtam, the association expressed sadness over Noghuvi’s death, stressing that such violence is unacceptable and calling on authorities to ensure justice is served. “When a student is murdered in cold blood, it not only shatters lives but robs the land of its future,” NTCA stated.
NTCA extended its condolences and support to the bereaved family during this difficult time, urging authorities to bring those responsible to justice swiftly.
STA: The Sümi Theological Association (STA), a representative body for theological students and church workers, has expressed profound shock and condemnation over the death of Noghuvi K Sumi, a theological student at Integrated Mission Seminary in Dimapur and a member of the association.
In a statement, the association described Sumi’s death as a “senseless act of violence” that has deeply impacted the community, leaving “irreparable scars” on the lives of the victim’s family, friends, and loved ones. The association vehemently denounced the brutal act, emphasizing that it represents a grave violation of human rights and dignity.
“This heinous act is a flagrant violation of human rights and fundamental dignity,” the statement read. “The taking of an innocent life without fear in a Christian society is an unpardonable crime that cannot be justified under any circumstances. Such evil acts have no place in our Christian state.”
The STA urged state law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the crime and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice swiftly. “We demand that the culprits face the full weight of the law,” they asserted.
Additionally, the association called upon all churches and religious organizations in Nagaland to unite in condemning this unacceptable act and to work collectively towards fostering a peaceful society where such atrocities are never repeated.

Describing murder as a reprehensible crime that violates the fundamental right to life, the council emphasized the far-reaching harm it inflicts on families, communities, and society as a whole. Offering condolences and prayers to Noghuvi’s family during this challenging time, the DSC strongly condemned the act and urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served. DNSU: The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has expressed shock and grief over the brutal killing of Noghuvi K Sumi, a BTh final-year student, whose body was found in the Walford area of Dimapur on Sunday. In a statement, the DNSU condemned the murder as a “heinous act” that reveals a disturbing disregard for human life and has sent waves of outrage and sorrow throughout the community.
DNSU President, Hinoto P Aomi and General Secretary, Michael Kath called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the incident, demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice. They emphasized the importance of a swift response by authorities, urging them to “leave no stone unturned” in uncovering the truth behind Noghuvi’s tragic death.
The union also appealed to the public to assist law enforcement in the investigation by sharing any information that could be relevant. Standing in solidarity with the family and friends of Noghuvi K. Sumi, the DNSU vowed to push for accountability and justice in light of this tragic event.
