DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 16 (MExN): Three NSCN (K) cadres were apprehended by the security forces from Asuto village, Zunheboto in Nagaland and Malugaon in Tinsukia district of Assam along with arms and ammunition. According to a press release issued by IGAR (North), 5 Assam Rifles during a operation conducted on September 14 at Asuto village under Zunheboto district nabbed one NSCN (K) cadre along with one 7.62mm assault rifle, two magazines and 163 live rounds and three live rifle grenade. The cadre who has been identified as one Itoka Awomi, a rajapeyu under NSCN (K) was handed over to Zunheboto police station for further investigation, the press release informed. In a separate press statement, PIB (Defence Wing), Government of India said two NSCN (K) cadres were nabbed in separate operations carried out by the Changlang Battalion of Dao Division consecutively on September 15 and 16, 2017. The two cadres were identified as Kngmu Hakhun alias Ramesh Kakhun, a Ranapeyu and private Singmai Hacheng. Both of them were involved in carrying out extortion activities in the Tinsukia district of Assam, the press release stated.
