Tikhir officers demand YAA to prove their claims

DIMAPUR, JAN 8 (MExN): Three Tikhir officers employed under the Nagaland Government today responded to what they termed as “YAA’s mad press release” which appeared on January 8. The officers, SI Asangba Tikhir, SDO (E), TL Kiusumong Tikhir, EAC and Joseph Tikhir, DSP said “lies and foolish allegation” had been leveled against them.

Against the “idiot allegation” that the three were employed using Yimchunger Certificates, the officers replied that SI Asangba Tikhir was appointed as SDO (E) in 2000 through NPSC with Indigenous and Schedule Tribe Certificates bearing Tikhir Tribe.

The rejoinder said T.L. Kiusumong and Joseph Thongliu were appointed as EAC and DSP respectively in 2004 through NPSC with Indigenous, Schedule Tribe and Backward Tribe Certificates bearing Tikhir Tribe vide Government Order NO. HOME/SCTA-10/2000 (TT) Dtd Kma the 26th Nov’ 2002.

“The Order States that since Tikhir is not yet as recognized Tribe, they may avail the quota of Yimchunger backward quota. Also note that Joseph Thongliu is not posted at 3rd NAP, Tuensang. We advise you to probe properly.”

The second ‘mad’ allegation against the three of “sponsoring and transporting great number of alcohols, sophisticated arms and ammunitions” to Limitsung is “shocking” and a “sheer lie”, the officers said.

“Maybe your Yimchunger officers are doing so to ISA alias LOKHUM (armed outfit of Yimchungers), that makes you suspect the Tikhir of doing like them, as a crooked person always thinks everyone to be crooked.”

The three have demanded from Throngso, President YAA and A Yapmule, Gen. Secy., YAA to “prove your claims of the above two points or to apologise for character assassination in the press within one week of this publication, failing which legal steps will be initiated against you.”

Moreover, the officers warned that if any untoward incident happens to any three of them or their families, “the two of you will bear the whole responsibility, in whatever manner it may be.”
