Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): Review meeting cum orientation on tobacco cessation for counsellors was held in District Tobacco Control Cell (DTCC) on August 18.
Counsellors from CIHSR, Eden medical centre, Shalom home, DTC, NCD clinic and TCC District hospital Dimapur participated. Dr C Tetseo DNO NTCP stated that counselling is the most important component of tobacco cessation program and this facility is now available in the above centres and tobacco users who want to quit may avail the service. He also informs that for those who need substitutes, the DTCC is also providing nicotine gum and patch free of cost.
Dr C Tetseo appreciated CIHSR, Eden medical centre and Shalom home for taking up this additional responsibility and it speaks volume about their commitment towards improving public health.
