Dimapur, June 14 (MExN): #TogetherForNagaland - an online initiative by Yimkhong TV and Mhaleu Metha in collaboration with other Naga Youtubers is ‘raising funds to help Nagaland breathe and provide help to poor section of the community through charity.’
‘The core concept and implementation of this project is charity, giving hope with community help and contributions,’ the team said in a press note. The initiative under the tagline #TogetherForNagaland has been launched with the purpose to help and provide basic necessities to people affected by the lockdown.
The initiative is not for the interest or benefit of any party, it said and added that the team ‘came forward together as responsible and concern individuals seeking the welfare and common interest in helping the general public.’
#TogetherForNagaland hopes to provide relief assistance to people mostly affected by the lockdown like daily wagers, BPL, stranded persons and underprivileged.
“The assistance will be in the form of essentials like rations, sanitary items and food items, which will be packed under my supervision with the help of some few selected people,” Mhaleu informed. “Our target is to distribute the packages to all the villages in and around Dimapur at the moment with Kohima being our next target and other districts so on,” he added.
Presently, 5000+ packages have been prepared to be distributed in and around Dimapur which will be handed over only to the chairman of the village, blocks, communities or khels as they will be responsible to select the eligible beneficiaries within their jurisdiction.
