Dimapur, April 13 (MExN): Toko Teki, former president and general secretary of the Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF), has volunteered to take responsibility in the United Christian Forum (UCF), which has been operating a toll-free helpline number (1-800-208-4545) since January 19, 2026.

The helpline aims to uphold fundamental freedoms and promote the values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution of India. It assists people in distress, particularly those unaware of legal provisions and administrative systems, by guiding them on how to approach public authorities and seek legal remedies.

Teki will assume office as UCF spokesperson for Northeast India with effect from April 16, 2026.

Known for his active involvement in student leadership, social work, sports promotion and Christian leadership, Teki has held several key positions over the years. He served as general secretary of Government Higher Secondary School, Yazali, spokesperson of the All Nyishi Students’ Union, and founder of the All Yachuli Students’ Union in 1990.

He was also vice president of the Arunachal Olympic Association until recently and is regarded as a noted sports promoter in the state.

In recognition of his contributions, the Government of Arunachal Pradesh conferred upon him a State Gold Medal. He is currently serving as an advisor to the Arunachal Christian Forum and is the longest-serving state Christian Forum leader in Arunachal Pradesh, having held leadership roles from 2005 to 2022.

Welcoming his appointment, UCF national president Dr Michael Williams said Teki’s dedication and passion as a Christian leader would strengthen the organisation’s efforts in addressing social inequality and religious persecution.

Accepting the responsibility, Teki said he has taken up the role not for personal gain or commercial interest, but as an opportunity for personal growth in spiritual and public ministry, and to contribute meaningfully to society.
