TPO Board of Arbitrators asked to give verdict on Kezoltsa dispute by April 30

Requests SAPO to lift bandh

Kohima, March 30 (MExN): The Tenyimi Peoples’ Organisation’s (TPO) Board of Arbitrators (BOA) has been asked to give its verdict on the land dispute at Kezoltsa/Kozürü/Kazing/Dzükou area on or before April 30 this year.
A resolution to this affect was taken during the TPO’s Presidential Council Meeting along with its BOA on March 29 in Kohima, a press release informed on Wednesday.

The resolution gains significance in the backdrop of the indefinite bandh imposed by the Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) in its jurisdiction along the NH-2 in connection with the land dispute.

“The House resolved to firmly stand by the Arbitration Undertaking signed in 2017 and honour every clause of the agreement. It also decided to stand by the Representations submitted to the Manipur government by the TPO and the three contending parties,” the release stated.

It also resolved that the Manipur government should withdraw its armed personnel and stop all activities in the disputed area at the earliest, failing which the TPO and its constituent organisatons would initiate its course of actions.

As per the release, it was also decided that the TPO and its constituent organisations would organise to reconstruct the demolished SAPO Rest House on April 11 and 12 and “further course of action will be decided on these dates if the Manipur government remains adamant not listen to the appeals made to it.”

The House further agreed to appeal to SAPO to lift its indefinite bandh in the light of the above taken decisions, the release stated.

Meanwhile, the house has decided that the TPO would organise a general body meeting before April 30 and requested the Poumai Naga Hoho to look into the venue for the meeting. Until then, the incumbent TPO officials shall continue to hold office, the release stated.
