Kohima, May 25 (MExN): Chief Minister TR Zeliang attended the meeting convened by BJP leader Amit Shah to discuss the formation of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) under the umbrella of NDA on May 24. The meeting, held at Taj Vivanta in Guwahati, was also attended by Chief Ministers of Assam, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh. The Chief Ministers agreed in principle to form the NEDA, which will be formalised after the respective States give their endorsement, informed a press release issued by Chief Minister’s Office, Kohima. The NEDA is envisaged to bring within its fold all the regional parties that are not allies of Congress, according to the release. This will enable the NEDA to give more attention to the specific issues of the North East Region, it added.
