TR Zeliang to be NPF’s CM candidate

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 18 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has resolved to go to the 2018 State Assembly Elections under the leadership of Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu, president of the NPF Party, and TR Zeliang, as the chief ministerial candidate; if at all election is conducted.  

A resolution to this effect was taken during the NPF legislature party meeting held on December 18 at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima. The resolution was unanimously adopted with all the members raising their hand in support, a press release from the Media Cell, CMO Nagaland stated.  

The prevailing political situation was also deliberated and the meeting, among others, resolved to remain firmly united in the party’s reconciliation process and the need to continue fostering congenial atmosphere in the State for facilitating an early settlement to the Naga political issue. The meeting also reaffirmed confidence and trust in the leadership of Dr Shürhozelie and TR Zeliang and resolved to stand solidly behind the two leaders.  

DAN for early solution to Naga political issue

The Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) has echoed the call for an early solution to the Naga political dialogue. “In view of the on-going political dialogue between the NSCN (IM) and the 6 NNPGs with the Government of India, the DAN Legislature Party call for an early solution before Election which is inclusive, acceptable and honourable,” stated a resolution which was adopted during the DAN legislature party meeting held at the State Banquet Hall, Kohima on December 18.
