Kohima, December 11 (MExN): In view of the 19th session of the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) scheduled from December 14-15, the Kohima Police has imposed new traffic regulation as part of the security arrangement.
The Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kohima in a release informed that only vehicles with appropriate car passes will be allowed entry to the Assembly Secretariat. Parking of vehicles by the roadsides will not be allowed from 6AM onwards during Assembly sessions at the following routes - BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; Raj Bhavan till M.S Classic Island; and Classic Island till Assembly Secretariat via Razhü Point.
Further, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway during Assembly sessions, except government departmental buses.
The plying of heavy vehicles in Kohima town will also be restricted in Kohima Town during Assembly sessions, from 7AM till the session gets over.
All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 7AM during Assembly sessions, the release said. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to be parked along ‘D’ Block road.
While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, the release also informed that the police will tow away defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicles owners.
