DIMAPUR, MARCH 30 (MExN): A policeman posted as a constable with the Dimapur traffic is reported to be missing. Reliable sources disclosed that the cop, identified as Chandra Mech has gone missing since the evening of March 22. According to the FIR lodged by Mech’s family, he had gone out the evening of March 22 and has not returned. He had reportedly left home to meet someone.
No contact has been made since. Initially, it was suspected to be a case of abduction for ransom, but the family has received no such calls, thereby, raising confusion over the nature of his disappearance. Attempts to track his phone number have indicated that the phone has been switched off, sources said. The last time he used the phone was the evening he went missing, it was added.
