Mon, September 4 (MExN): In the larger interest of public service and safety, and in pursuance of the directives of the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety, Thavaseelan K, Deputy Commissioner & Chairman RTA, Mon has notified that a penalty of suspension of driving license for three months for violation of laws relating to helmets/seat belts, use of mobile phones while driving, and dangerous driving will be strictly enforced and implemented within the jurisdiction of Mon district.
The general public is requested to strictly adhere to the proposed parking lot and traffic regulations within Mon town, stated the notification issued by its Office dated August 7, which will be enforced shortly in its original form or modified form after taking into consideration the claims and objections submitted.
The Deputy Commissioner has also directed the enforcing officers and staff to conduct periodic checking in order to minimize the inconveniences caused to passengers due to constant breakdown of public service vehicles like buses and taxis plying between districts.
Further, the restriction on the use of three wheelers in Hill Sector due to road safety concerns and safety of public life vide this Office's Notification dated July 9 is already in force, it added.
