Kiphire, January 20 (MExN): Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Kiphire, ICAR for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre conducted two-day training on livestock production management cum free vaccination and animal health camp at Tethuyo village and Kiphire Town in collaboration with Chief Veterinary Office, Kiphire on January 16 and 17.
Dr. Ekonthung Ngullie was the resource person.
During the technical session, the resource person discussed about the various management techniques involved in successful livestock production, according to a press release. Emphasizing on the importance of vaccination, he encouraged the participants to ensure timely and regular vaccination of their animals as a preventive measure against diseases.
N. Khumdemo Ezung, senior scientist and head (i/c), KVK Kiphire highlighted the activities of KVK and requested the participants for their cooperation for successful conduct of all the programmes undertaken by the KVK.
Around 200 farmers benefitted from the programme, where about 70 dogs and poultry were vaccinated. Free consultation and medicines were also provided along with mineral mixture and vitamins.
The programme at Tethuyo village was facilitated by the village council and in Kiphire Town by Lotha Baptist Church, Kiphire. Dr. Patel, Technical Assistant, KVK, Kiphire and three VFAs deputed from Chief Veterinary Office, Kiphire provided assistance.
