Training for frontline workers at Totok

Mon, March 13 (MExN): One day training for frontline workers like Anganwadi workers and helpers, ASHA workers, Aadhaar and community volunteers was jointly organized with a special outreach programme on centrally sponsored schemes by the World Vision and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting Field Publicity Unit, Mon at Totok Chingnyu Baptist Church on March 11.  

Nockyam Wangnao, CDF, WVI, Mon AP briefed on the joint training programme and appealed to the village leaders and health workers to know their respective duties and responsibility to build a healthy society. While briefing on various centrally sponsored schemes such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Beti Bachao/ Beti Padao etc., Field Publicity Officer (FPO/DFP) Mathew SK Bengam in his speech said that the Directorate of Field Publicity is the mediator and communicator between the Central Government and the public.

 He said the joint programmes of the World Vision, Social Welfare Department, NRHM and Field Publicity have the same mission to work for community development and urged the participants to disseminate the information to the people back at home. He also distributed T/shirts to all the participants. Speaking on the duties and functions of the Anganwadi workers and helpers, CDPO Mon Tongwang Konyak said that Anganwadi centre should not be a center of distribution of foodstuffs but should be a center of all-round development of a child before schooling.  

Anganwadi workers and helpers, ASHA workers, Aadhaar and community volunteers, pastors and other village functionaries attended the training programme, the release informed.
