A comprehensive one-day training program focusing on skill development was held in Chedema village today.  The initiative was organized under the auspices of Highlanders Institute of Hotel Management led by Dr Keneilhoulie Medom.

The primary aim of this training was to empower the local youth, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to harness their talents effectively.

This empowerment is particularly relevant as the village prepares for the 1st ever Mini Hornbill Festival to be held at Chedema village.
Speaking during the programme, Nühükholü Keyho, managing director of Highlanders Institute of Hotel Management emphasized the significance of entrepreneurship and the management of tourism as crucial avenues for personal and economic growth. He engaged the participants in discussions about how they can utilize their skills to create sustainable livelihoods, highlighting the importance of leveraging opportunities such as the upcoming Hornbill Festival.

Rose Rutsa programme manager of the highlander also stated that by investing in their talents and embracing these opportunities, the youth can contribute positively to both their personal development and the local economy.

The programme continued with practical training sessions that covered essential topics in hospitality, management, and marketing. These sessions provided the participants with valuable insights and practical skills that can be directly applied in their future endeavors, ideally positioning them to take advantage of the opportunities presented during the festival and beyond.
