Zunheboto, April 5 (MExN): The Department of Agriculture, Zunheboto conducted one day farmers training programme on organic farming under Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana at Litsami Village on March 15.
The programme was chaired by District Agriculture Officer, G. Kiyevi Ayemi. The technical session was conducted by L. Kivika Chophi, Agriculture Officer where he highlighted the objectives of the scheme where Organic Farming is promoted through adoption of Organic Village by cluster approach and participatory guarantee system certification.
A brief explanation on the operation guidelines under PKVY was highlighted. The method and use of Biocomposting, Vermicomposting, application of Biofertilizers, Bioagents under organic farming was also explained to the farmers. A total of 30 farmers covering 50 acres from Litsami Village has been adopting for organic farming.
The farmers of Litsami Village extended the happiness to the Department of Agriculture for organizing Organic Farming for the first time in their Village.
