Dimapur, August 6 (MExN): A technical failure at the 33/11 kV, 5 MVA power transformer at the Ganeshnagar sub-station in Chümoukedima has disrupted electricity supply to several areas under the sub-station, the Department of Power informed on August 6.
According to a press release issued by the Executive Engineer, Transmission Division, Dimapur, the transformer developed a technical fault at around 3:00 am on August 6.
As a result, consumers receiving electricity from the Ganeshnagar sub-station will face power supply disruptions until the damaged transformer is replaced and the system is fully restored.
The affected areas include Aqahuto, Dhansiripar, Doyapur, Hebron Camp area, Razaphe and neighbouring villages.
The department stated that it is making "all possible effort" to replace the damaged transformer and restore power supply at the earliest.
Expressing regret over the disruption, the department apologised for the inconvenience caused and sought the "co-operation and understanding" of the public during the restoration period.
