A song titled “Tsakha X Plannu” by Seyievinuo Chuzho and Mari Mathias was released on July 21.
This marks one of the first International collaboration between Nagaland, India, & Wales, UK - a unique cultural exchange that brings together the rich traditions of Naga folk music and the soulful heritage of Welsh folk music.
This folk song highlights shared agricultural traditions between the Nagas & the Welsh. The term “Sowing Seeds” is expressed as TSAKHA in Chakhesang and PLANNU in Welsh, reflecting a common traditional practice of cultivation.
Despite cultural & linguistic differences, both communities incorporate songs during planting.
This piece celebrates those similarities while honouring the enduring bond between people & the land.
It also emphasizes how music can transcend borders, promoting unity, peace, & friendship regardless of language, culture, or way of life.
It is both a tribute and a bridge.
