Tsg: Non-compliance to COVID-19 appropriate behaviors to attract penalty

Tuensang, April 3 (MExN): Additional Deputy Commissioner and Administrator of the Tuensang Town Council (TTC), Ajit Kumar Verma on Saturday noted that various shopkeepers, business establishments, hotels, restaurants are not adhering to COVID-19 appropriate practices. Therefore an enforcement team has been constituted to ensure strict compliance to COVID- 19 appropriate practices like provision of hand washing facility /hand sanitizer, maintaining social distancing and wearing of mask by salesman and customers.

Violators or defaulters will be subject to penalty ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 500 as per the ADC’s order.

In case of no hand washing facility /hand sanitizers, the penalty of first offence will be Rs 500 along with a warning.

Offence after one week of first offence will result in sealing of the establishment with or without suspension of trade license till facilities are provided.

No provision/mechanism to ensure the maintenance of queue and social distancing among the customers will attract penalty of Rs 200 every time the offence is committed.

Penalty for not wearing of mask by salesman, other staff and customers concerned with particular shop, business establishment will be Rs 100 every time the offence is committed.

Members of the enforcement team are Yempnag Chang (Supervisor, TTC), Molodanchi Chang (Assistant Supervisor TTC), Asola (Vice President CoC&I Tuensang Town), Elemmongko Chang (DB-II) and Luyan Yimchunger (DB-II), the ADC informed.
