KOHIMA, DECEMBER 29 (MExN): “Tsüpfüme Nyi”, a festival which is observed once in every 5 years was celebrated at the Tsüpfüme Community Hall from December 27-28, 2017 with Deo Nukhu, MLA as chief guest. During each festival, all the in-laws from outside the village are invited to be part of the occasion with the view to let them learn and experience the unique culture of the village.
The festival is alternatively hosted by village dwellers and those living in towns and cities. This year, it was hosted by Tsüpfüme Nupfü Rhüme (Tsüpfüme village dwellers). Another objective of the festival is also to connect children to their roots through several demonstrations of culture in the form of indigenous songs, dances, games, etc.
