Kohima: Tuden Jamir made history by securing 4th position at the Asian VIMA Music Awards 2014 for his hit single ‘About a Hat’ from his debut EP ‘The Renaissance Man’.
The best musicians from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei and India competed for the coveted VIMA Awards. From the hundreds of entries, only five artists from every country were then selected to compete at the Asia level out of which Tuden stood on top in the pop category from India.
At the Grand Finale, which was held on March 22 at Platinum Club - One City, Subang, Kuala-Lumpur, Malaysia, Tuden from Nagaland came out in the 4th position from among the final 20 nominees from all over South East Asia. Tuden Jamir and other nominees were invited by the CEO of VIMA ASIA to attend the award's grand finale at Malaysia.
VIMA Awards is Asia's 1st independent music award. There was also one more nomination from the North-East B.K &INA who secured 3rd in their category, “Genre Bender” with their song “Free”. According to Reverbnation, DJ Ina from Nagaland is currently ranked as the Number 1 EDM (Electronic Dance Music) producer in India.
