Tuensang DPDB goes on development-focus spree

TUENSANG, NOV 13 (DIPR): The monthly meeting of Tuensang District Planning and Development Board was held on November 10  under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, DPDB Tuensang, Abhijit Sinha, IAS, at  the hydro project rest house, Lang, about 28 Kilometers away from Noklak.

Minister for Transport & Communication, Imtilemba Sangtam who was also attended the meeting stressed on HIV /AIDS awareness and urged officials to take initiatives to prevent and fight the same. He also asked members of DPDB to discuss in the board meeting to find out the way and means to solve the un-employment problems as the government has banned the creation of more posts. The minister also urged  officers to be regular in the offices and remain in the place of their posting. 
Also speaking at the meeting, MLA Heno requested the DPDB members to submit their respective development schemes to representative members for joint further action.

With regard to improvement of approach road to Sao Chang College, the board resolved to refer the same to the concerned MLA to allot funds from DUDA. The Board was informed that a workshop on disaster management will be held on November 14 at 11 am in the DC’s conference hall, Tuensang with Choten Lama, IAS Consultant DMRP, NER, Akshay Kumar Programme Associate, NER, Pete Rüpreo, State Project Officer, Kohima and Er Moa Longkumer, Lecturer, ATI Kohima as the resource persons. All concerned have been requested to attend the workshop. 

The board also discussed construction of a suspension bridge at Lumu River and decided to forward the case to the concern  MLA for consideration. With regard to the government taking over of private Kiukam School at Sotokur Village, the board asked DIS Tuensang to produce the verification report in the next DPDB meeting for further recommendation to the concern department.

The board also resolved to forward the matter of construction of a  fencing around Government High School Shamator to the concern MLA for consideration. For approval of schemes of grant-in-aid during the ‘Year of the farmer’ 2006, the board decided to forward to the Agri and allied departments for consideration.

Further, for proper implementation of Registration of Births and Death Act 1969, the Deputy Commissioner has asked DSO to take proper initiative. With regard to introduction of NST Bus service from Noklak to Dimapur at least twice or thrice in a week, the board decided to forward the case to the concern department.

The board also decided to forward to the concern department  posting of Village Guards at the International Trade Centre (ITC) at Pangsa. The board also decided to forward to the concern authority a matter for creation of a sub-centre at Sao Chang College. ADC Noklak reported the board meeting that due to shortage of doctors at CHC Noklak, public of the sub-division are facing difficulties  for which the board resolved to write to the Health and Family Welfare department for necessary action.

In regard to cleanliness drives, the DC regretted that due to late receipt of the order for the drive, it could not be conducted and has entrusted all ADCs, SDOs (Civil) and EACs of Tuensang district to conduct the drive within a few days.

Earlier all Tuensang DPDB members, led by Minister Imtilemba and MLA Heno visited the International Trade Centre (ITC) Pangsa and witnessed trade activities between Myanmar and the people of Noklak sub-division. The Minister also held a meeting with the public of Pangsa.
