
Tuensang, May 3 (MExN): A week long training-cum-kharif seed distribution programme sponsored by ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, NEH Programme was conducted by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Tuensang from April 26 to 30.
According to updates from the KVK Tuensang, Yanger I Kichu, Farm Manager, trained the beneficiaries on various cultivation practices of summer vegetable crops in order to maintain nutritional gardens in the villages for a healthy and sustainable livelihood.
Dr Pijush Kanti Biswas, Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Tuensang also deliberated on the importance of the programme and how the cultivation of these crops will help in combating food shortages in a pandemic situation.
Representatives from various targeted villages attended the programme which was held maintaining all SOPs.
Altogether 10 villages were benefited from the programme which was coordinated by Dr Shisarenla Aier, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture) and Nodal Officer NEH Programme, KVK, Tuensang, the updates stated.
