Tuensang: Five receive Entrepreneurship Development Fund

The Local Entrepreneurs Association Tuensang (LEAT) organised a launching programme for Entrepreneurship Development Fund under the theme, ‘building lives, rebuilding society’ at CBLT Resource Centre in Tuensang town on August 22.

Altogether five beneficiaries received the fund from the LEAT which was handed over by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa.

LEAT President, Chingmak Chang highlighted about the Entrepreneurship Development Fund stating that LEAT was established in the year 2017 and that the fund is not a ‘profit making venture.’

A separate committee is set up for the fund within LEAT and a total amount of one lakh rupees was raised among itself.

Expressing that the amount collected for the fund is a “huge amount for LEAT” which will be given as a soft loan of Rs 20,000 each to five beneficiaries for a period of one year. “It is a small seed of a big banyan tree and the vision behind this fund is to build a movement for the local entrepreneurs in the town,” he said.

He emphasised that the LEAT aims to provide opportunities for “bigger dream, mission and goals” of local entrepreneurs and expressed that the business should not be kept as the last option.

Tuensang Chamber of Commerce and Industries, President, Ebesola cautioned that the fund must be used judiciously only in their business establishments. She also encouraged the beneficiaries stating that they are the first to receive this fund and their story will be exemplary for the local entrepreneurs and the launching of it will become a significant event as a result of their success.

Stating that “Accounting leads to success in business,” she encouraged them to be passionate, hardworking and dedicated.

DC Tuensang Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa in her address stated that the initiative of LEAT and the role played by them for local entrepreneurs is commendable and expressed that she is, “fortunate one to be present in this landmark occasion.”

She exhorted that the non-local business traders have made Tuensang town as a place to come and earn which shows that there is potential of earning. Further sharing the example of the Chakhesang people’s hard work, humility, sincerity and determination to follow their goals, she said, “Don’t eat the seeds, eat the fruit.”

Short speeches were also delivered by Er Elo Khiamniungan, AE, CAWD, Tuensang and Küdazo Swüro, EAC (P), Tuensang. The programme was led by Chingmak, Secretary, LEAT while invocation prayer was pronounced by Joshua, Secretary, Christian Education, CBLT followed by welcome address and felicitation from Alemla, Executive Chairwoman, LEAT. Later, Toshi, Pastor, Tuensang Town Ao Baptist Church dedicated and prayed for the LEAT Entrepreneurship Development Fund.
