Dimapur, January 2 (MExN): The 44TH Annual Sports Meet of Tenyiphe-1 Village Youth Organisation culminated on December 30 at Village Local Ground, Chumukedima. It was held from December 26 to 30 under the theme “United we Stand” with Z Kasheto Yepthomi, Class-1 Contractor & Businessman as the Guest of honor at the Closing ceremony.
Addressing the gathering he said that sports meet ignites the spirit of unity and cooperation among the villagers bringing forth people together and also creating a platform to the younger generation to expose their skills and talents which is an encouragement to the youngsters.
He appealed to all the players to maintain true sportsmanship spirit and to possessed the decorum of a true sportsman Qualities i.e, Discipline, Determination and Humbleness, he encourage the youth to have high determination and excel in state, national and international level.
Earlier the programme was chaired by Mhasileto Medoze Treasurer (TVYO), Exhortation by Helie Kruse Chairman TVC, Thanksgiving Prayer by Zasikholie Meyase Ex.Pastor T-1 BC, while Vote of thanks was delivered by Sebi Neikha Gen-Secy TVYO.
This Year B-Khel Team emerged as the champion in Men’s Football and C-Khel (A) team bagged the runners up while C-Khels Women’s Team emerged as the Champion in Women’s Football and B-Khel Women’s Team bagged the runners up in women’s Football Category, all walked away with Trophy and Cash Award respectively.
Altogether 6 teams from 5 different khels competed in the 5 days long sports meet in Wrestling, Football and Volleyball both men’ and women’ categories respectively.
