Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): Ellen, class 7 of Baptist High School, Tenning Village, Peren and Tiakumzuk Ao, Director, Dreamz Unlimited, Dimapur has been awarded the Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi Essay and film competitions first position in the essay general category (below 18) and third position in the general category (above 18) respectively on October 2 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The award was presented by Ramesh Jigajinaji, Minister of State Drinking Water and Sanitation and Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of State (independent charge Housing and Urban Affairs).
The first session was graced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation had organised "Swachhta hi Seva", a mass mobilization campaign to meet the goal of Swachh Bharat from September 15 to October 2 and organised Nationwide Swachh Sankalp se Swachh Siddhi Essay and Film Competitions between August 16 to September 15. The Department of PHED organised the same; 239 Essay and 10 short films entries were recieved from the 11 Districts, out of which the best three from each category was submitted to the Ministry.
The winner of essay general category competition received a citation and a cash award of Rs.100000/- and the winner of Short Film General Category Competition received a citation and a cash award of Rs.50000/-.
Akumla Chuba, Jt. secy, PHED, Thenusou Sekhose , HRD Consultant, WSSO,PHED and Rev. Ramriwang, Father of Ellen along with the two awardees attended the award ceremony on behalf of the State.
