A truck (right) rammed into an auto rickshaw (left) at 5th mile injuring two people riding inside the rickshaw today.
Dimapur, April 11 (MExN): Two persons were injured in a road mishap on Thursday evening, April 11 here. The accident occurred when a truck (NL 06 A 0251), rammed into an auto rickshaw (NL 07 F 2338) from behind, in which the injured were travelling at 5th mile. One of the injured was the auto rickshaw driver identified as Sakuto Chophy. The other injured was the passenger, who was identified as Kakheho Ayemi. They were seriously injured and were admitted to the intensive care unit at CIHSR. Eyewitness accounts stated that following the impact of the truck from the rear, the three-wheeler was thrust onto the back of a military truck moving a few meters ahead. The truck was reportedly speeding away after it had nudged the side of another auto rickshaw at the 4th Mile junction. The driver of the truck reportedly absconded following the mishap.
