Governor Ravi raises air connectivity issue with Civil Aviation Minister
Kohima, August 27 (MExN): The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has assured Nagaland Governor RN Ravi that air services to three more routes to the state will operationlise by October.
The three routes are Dimapur–Guwahati, Dimapur-Imphal and Dimapur- Dibrugarh air services covered under the UDAN scheme. The Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri gave the assurance during his meeting with Governor Ravi on August 27 in New Delhi, where the air connectivity of Nagaland with the country and the North East region was discussed, a Raj Bhavan release informed.
During the same, Ravi had sought Puri’s assistance for early operationalisation of routes to three sectors under UDAN scheme.
The Minister gave necessary instructions to the concerned officials of the Ministry and Airlines and assured the Governor that the flight services on these sectors will begin by October this year, stated the release issued by PRO to Governor.
Ravi appreciated Puri for his prompt action, it said, adding that “improved Air, surface and digital connectivity of Nagaland is a priority concern of the Governor”
UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme is a flagship programme of the Government of India to improve regional connectivity and boost development.
