Dimapur, September 16 (DIPR): Governor of Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh Governor, PB Acharya who is also the chairman of NEZCC along with Minister of Cultural Affairs (I/C) and MoS for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change interacted with the officials of NEZCC Thursday evening at the NEZCC conference hall.
In his brief address, Governor Acharya dubbed Nagaland as second to none with huge potentials in the field of tourism, organic food, minerals, human resources coupled with rich cultural heritage. Nagaland can become one of the richest states if these areas are channeled properly, he observed.
Union Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma on his first visit to NEZCC Dimapur reminded the officials of NEZCC for preservation of the rich culture of the North East specially the dying arts. Mentioning that India is the only country which has everything from snow, deserts, culture; hills, including 73 percent of the Himalayas; Dr. Mahesh said, “All this shows the importance of Indian culture and geography.”
The Union Minister reminded the NEZCC officials that Governor Acharya is the designated Chairman, and advised them to route all the activities of the centre through the chairman and also to brief him on day today activities of the centre.
Dr. Sharma also asked them to make use of the available resources in an effective and transparent manner. Dr. Sharma also enquired about the work status of the Regional Convention Centre to which Director in charge of NEZCC informed that 25 percent of the work has been completed.
Later, the entourage visited the NE heritage museum at NEZCC complex and also visited the site where the Regional Convention centre is under construction.
