
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 22 (MExN): Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari today informed the Lok Sabha on the status and targeted completion date for widening to two lane with paved shoulder and strengthening of the National Highway 2 in Nagaland. The Union Minister informed that Rs 167.62 Crores has been sanctioned for works along a 16 kilometer (40km to 56km) stretch of the NH-2. He further informed that Rs 172.63 Crores has been sanctioned for roadwork between a 16.40 kilometer stretch (56km to 72km) on the NH-2. The targeted completion date for both these stretches is December 7, 2020. In the same highway, an additional sanction of Rs 217.35 Crore for a 15.78 kilometer stretch (68km to 183.783km) has been allotted, with a completion target date of November 11, 2020, the Minister informed. This was informed in response to an unstarred question by Lok Sabha Member of Parliament from Nagaland, Tokheho Yepthomi in the floor of the house during the ongoing winter session of Parliament.
