Tuensang, May 10 (MExN): The Chang Union, Chang Students’ Union and the 13th Ward (Saksi NAP Sector) Tuensang have written a representation to the Chief Engineer, National Highways, Nagaland alleging poor workmanship on NH-202 stretch between Saksi Nap Sector Ward 13 to Tuensang Town (93 -99 km) and seeking immediate intervention and necessary action.
The representation made available to the media stated that the unions inspected the recently constructed blacktop road on May 9 and found the quality of workmanship “very poor and totally unsatisfactory”.
Informing that the above mentioned stretched road was completed only recently, the unions pointed out that most parts of the road has already been damaged owing to poor work quality. “Rain water actually accumulates in the middle of the road and there are potholes everywhere,” the unions lamented.
Strongly demanding the concern authority to immediately repair the above mentioned stretch afresh, the unions also demanded the authority not to issue the completion certificate for the said work “till all the contract specifications/DPR are fulfilled in letter and spirit”.
In case of failure to fulfill our demands, the unions will not hesitate to take further aggressive steps and for which the concern authority shall be solely held responsible, the representation warned.
