Unity and Reconciliation a must: Mishilimi bodies

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 28(MExN): “If Nagas are to march ahead, unity and reconciliation is a must and proper arrangement should be made to facilitate to take forward the talk process by taking the blessing of the Naga Public” asserted a joint press statement issued by the Tokiye Wotsa, Chairman Mishilimi Village Council and Pihoshe Sheqi, President Mishilimi Students Union on the sideline of extending “appreciation to all those ensuring the safe release of Zütovi G Swu of the NSCN ‘unification group’ [(the erstwhile Secretary in the NSCN (IM)] who was kidnapped by NSCN (IM) on the 26th of February on his way to Kohima and later released”.

While appreciating the good gesture, the statement also questioned the “sincerity of NSCN (IM) in their approach for peace and reconciliation”. The statement further added that “for common interest of all the Nagas, any organization which involves the whole Nagas should proceed without selfish interest”.  The statement urged stating that “any organization should desist from such dastardly act which affects the sentiment of the people in general” and to “let reason prevail”.  The statement appealed citing that “underground organizations must unite and march forward for achieving common goal by creating room for each other, instead of fiddling with the sentiment of the no fool Naga public by using the barrel of the gun”.

The press statement makes special mentions of gratitude to “the Kohima Sümi Hoho, Northern Angami Public Organization, Northern Angami Youth Organization, Tenyimi Central Union, CAO (NSCN-IM) Angami Region & Colleagues, N.
