Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): Unity College, Dimapur Students’ Activity Week featuring annual sports activity, cultural day cum Voice Hunt concluded on December 16 to mark the end of winter session.
The week began with sports events and ‘Team Vagator’ (B.A. 4th Semester) was declared the Overall Champions. The much celebrated annual Cultural Day cum Unity Voice Hunt Season III, 2017, was conducted on December 16 to celebrate our diverse cultures and traditions.
The judges of the Voice Hunt were Bethel Tsuzu, Director, Mountain Music Academy; Toshimeren, Music Instructor, Hope Academy; and Thunglamo Ngullie, Vocal Instructor, Hope Centre for Excellence, TIME, Pilgrim School.
The winner of Unity Voice Hunt is Jentysangla Changkiri, followed by the runners up Wikidon. The winners were awarded cash prizes as well as a Music Track Record deal by ‘Trance Effect’, a collaboration which will be released in 2018. The event also witnessed the official release of the track recorded in collaboration with the band AVANCER.
The Voice hunt was followed by indigenous food fest and various cultural presentations and Indigenous games. The highlights of the event were Chang Warrior Dance, Tabla, Marwari Dance, Kuki Bamboo Dance, Harvest Fusion and Sumi Folk Song. On-Spot fire-making, greased bamboo pole climbing and spear kick competitions were exhibited.
