Upgradation of soil & water conservation training centre

Kohima | January 6 : The soil & water conservation training, research & demonstration centre at Zubza which was established in the year 1971 has been imparting training to field level/village level workers and farmers on scientific conservation farming technology and natural resources conservation and management since then.
According to an annual administrative report of the soil & water conservation, till the date the Centre could provide two years pre-service training course to 17 batches of soil and water conservation assistants along with a good number of training to both the serving field workers and farmers.
It also could conduct some resources/field trials on some soil and water conservation technologies and demonstrate such feasible technologies for the benefit of the farmers.
“Even then, the department could not update and upgrade the centre for long due to financial constraints, the report said, adding “Thus, with the fund available under the scheme, the department is trying to upgrade the Centre to the standard of that of the others states of the country by opening new infrastructures alongwith their renovation of the existing training, research and demonstration infrastructures and other supporting facilities.”
