V. Nagi responds to allegations leveled by Kiumukam

I  V. Nagi hereby state that all allegations leveled against me by Kiumukam Yimchungrii are complete lies and without any foundation whatsoever. Out of sheer frustration, this individual, who was expelled by the Central Executive Council of NNC and by his own Yimchungrii Region, is spreading these vile falsehoods to confuse people and try to repair his own heavily tarnished image. But by these nefarious and unfounded allegations he is exposing more of his own bad character and destructive nature.

Regarding his allegations about an agreement between NSCN (IM) and myself, this is wholly untrue. All the Naga Frontal Organisations know about this case, in particular the FNR members, APO and my villagers. Therefore, even if Kiumukam tries to dig out the past to implicate my name, he will not be able to do so. In fact, during my arrest by IM and the ensuing tension, Kiumukam along with some new  members  collected money from bureaucrats, officers and business establishments on the pretext of paying for my release from IM custody. This money was then used by Kiumukam and his cronies. It was only after my release that I came to know of this disgraceful activity. Today, I am compelled to reveal these unpalatable truths because of the relentless personal attacks mounted on me by Kiumukam and the abominable lies that he is publishing about me.

Also I have to state clearly that after my release, I tendered my resignation in the Central Executive Council Meeting for consideration.  M. Kiumukam was one of the members who insisted that I should not resign and offered his full support to me. But today he is doing everything he can to harm me and damage my reputation. All the CEC members are aware of the true facts and Kiumukam's perfidy is thereby exposed.

Regarding my people and villagers as Kiumukam mentioned, I must honestly say that if it were not for  my villagers and I, Kiumukam would not have attained his  position in the NNC. But instead of appreciating our support he has treacherously turned and bitten the hand helped him.

Kiumukam Yimchungrii appears to be severely jealous of my personal properties. I must therefore state for once and for all that what he has said about my house or purchase of land is not true at all and never happened. Rather he should say what he knows about the two occasions when I sold land  to fund NNC official works like meetings and even my trips abroad. Also why does he mention only my trips to Kathmandu, the nearest country? Why not mention all other many countries I have visited on NNC duties and missions?

To tell the unsavoury truth about Kiumukam, he was the first person to collect taxes from the general public in Dimapur and Kohima. This was fully explained by the honorable Gen. (Rtd.) I. Panger last year. These facts are known to all the people. Kiumukam is the one who did all these dirty jobs and ultimately become a drunkard and womanizer as stated by his Sumi workers.

Kiumukam's recent public utterances, especially the speech where he mentioned 65 years Celebration of Naga Republic Day, in which he addressed himself instead of addressing the Naga people, and his execrable rejoinder of 31st March, leave one to suppose that  Kiumukam has taken leave of his senses.

Regarding the NNC and the officials, we are in full swing working with proper understanding and cooperation. Kiumukam will, as always be full of paranoia and suspicion about me. This is his inherent nature and everyone knows it. But the NNC officials are not like him.

I V. Nagi, as long as I work and remain on the right political stand  in the interest of the people and the NNC in particular, anybody may make mischief or  false accusations out of hate or envy,  it will be of no concern to me as long as I work uprightly in the sight of God Almighty.

V. Nagi,
General Secretary,
Naga National Council
