Peren, December 21 (MExN): The Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) has expressed shock at the kidnapping of Lalneineiw, VDB Secretary of Khelma village under Ahthibung sub-division of Peren district on November 25 by miscreant(s) and the demand for a ransom of Rs. 15 lakh.
“It is very much disturbing to the family as well as the people of the area that such uncivilized incident has happened at a time when every Christian is gearing up to celebrate Christmas… This action of the miscreant(s) has stolen away the peace of the family, the villagers and the people of Ahthibung sub-division as a whole,” said a press statement from KIN information and publicity secretary.
Condemning the kidnapping and demand for ransom from “such a poor villager who is living from hand to mouth,” it further maintained that such action by any individual(s) or organization is never expected and accepted in a civilized society.
The Inpi appealed to the kidnapper(s) to immediately release the person safe and sound without any condition at the earliest before Christmas. It also requested the administration and the security forces to take immediate steps to secure the release of the kidnapped person at the earliest.
