Kiphire, December 15 (MExN): The Yangzitong Village A & B Council under Kiphire district has condemned the murder of one of its citizens, Yangsemong Sangtam, on December 10 at Singrijan in Dimapur.
A condemnation note from Serito K Sangtam, GB of Yangzitong A, Tohuvi Z Yepthomi, GB of Yangzitong B, and Hotolu Chishi, Chairman of Yangzitong Village A & B Council affirmed that Yangsemong was a man of integrity and moral upright without any adverse or criminal record.
“He led a sober life of teetotaller, never indulged himself in immoral activities but was with a restrained and moderate character. Such an ill-fate befell on him was very unfortunate which we could not find any circumstance to yield in,” it stated.
Terming the killing “barbaric and inhuman,” the council urged the law enforcing agency to immediately arrest the perpetrator(s) who is still at large. “Such a dreaded criminal must not roam freely but must be arrested without further delay and be awarded with highest punishment,” it demanded.
It further solicited prompt action of the law enforcing agencies and urged to deliver justice to the bereaved family.
