Dimapur, March 21 (MExN): The National Foundation for India (NFI) partnered with Childline Dimapur to host a one-day workshop on Child Rights, focusing on the roles and responsibilities of Village Level Child Protection Committee and strengthening of State SDG goals with village leaders, on March 20.

The event, held at the Hazadisa Community Hall under Dhansiripar sub-division and hosted by Can Youth, was chaired by Sentiwati Kichu, Programme Manager of Can Youth, with Loza, District Coordinator of Childline Dimapur, and Katini Eshena from NFI as the resource persons, according to a press release received here on Tuesday.

During the workshop, Loza spoke about the importance of Childline, the toll-free number 1098 that provides a way for children to report any child-related issues. She also highlighted the needs and responsibilities of Village Level Child Protection Committees, which can report any child-related cases to various child welfare organizations.

Loza is said to have encouraged the village council to form a committee to safeguard and protect children, maintain a database in the village, and check on school management systems regularly. She also stressed the prevalence of child abuse in society and the importance of taking action collectively to prevent it.

Meanwhile, Katini Eshena of NFI spoke on Sustainable Development Goals, engaging participants in identifying problems in their communities and brainstorming solutions to achieve the State SDG vision by 2030, the release stated.
