Dimapur, April 6 (MExN): To commemorate the settlement of long land dispute between the two villages, Achikuchu (Sema) and Longtoker (Yimchunger) villages held a joint prayer meeting at Tizu/Kethrum River on March 23.
The long pending land dispute was settled between representatives of the two villages by reaching a mutual agreement on November 14, 2012 in the presence of District Administration of Tuensang and Zunheboto. On March 26, 2013, the land boundaries were implanted in conformity with the mutual agreement of November 2012, a press release informed.
The release issued by the two villages acknowledged that misunderstanding between/among neighbours over lands, forests, and fields are common phenomenon. However, under the sagacious wisdom and guidance of H. Kakheto and Lt. I Shokum, the issue was settled, it said and asked others to emulate such action by all the Naga brothers in the true spirit of Naga brotherhood. The two villages have also unanimously resolved that in any future event of misunderstanding over petty boundary, robbery issues etc, the matter shall be localized by settling the disputes between the erring individuals only and never aggravate the matters into issues between the villages and tribes at large, the release added.
The participants of the joint prayer programme of both the communities also prayed for long and everlasting peace between the two villages.
