Peren, September 19 (DIPR): As part of the statewide programme on Kala Utsav (RMSA) a visual arts on painting competition was held at Town Hall Peren on September 19 under the supervision of Visiezelie Yashu, Jt. Mission Director and Timothy Thong Deputy Mission Director RMSA.
The programme was divided into two parts, the competition and the formal programme. In the competition, on visual arts painting showcasing traditional values of life in compliance with the theme “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” was competed amongst the high school students and higher secondary school students from Class-9 to 12. Deugum of Govt Higher Sec School Peren secured the first position; Wabungtemjen of Govt Higher Sec School Peren secured the second position while Paurang of Govt Hr Sec School Jalukie batched the third position.
During the formal programme Visiezelie Yashu, Jt. Missin Director RMSA highlighted the very purpose of holding the Kala Utsav across the country which began in 2015. He encouraged the students to be enlightened about their own culture. Timothy Thong, Deputy Mission Director RMSA explained to the students on the practical aspect of participation in the Kala Utsav events in the near future.
The programme was chaired by L Toshimenla Imchen, DDEO Peren and vote of thanks was given by Mary Zhimomi SDEO Peren.
