Keynote speaker, panellist, SAS-NU, Medziphema campus officials and others during the Entrepreneurs Meet’ under the theme “Unleashing Entrepreneurial Potential in Youth” organised on September 30.

Medziphema, October 4 (MExN): An ‘Entrepreneurs Meet’ under the theme “Unleashing Entrepreneurial Potential in Youth” was organised by the Nagaland University School of Agricultural Sciences (NU-SAS), Medziphema Campus, on September 30.
The Science and Technology Intervention in the North East Region - Technology Facilitation Centre (STINER-TFC), NU-SAS, collaborated with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS), Kohima, for the event.
The event featured a variety of activities, including panel discussions and motivational talks by successful entrepreneurs, business leaders, and government officials, stated a press release from the STINER-TFC.
Speaking on the occasion, Pro Vice-Chancellor SAS-NU and Project Incharge STINER Professor Akali Sema highlighted how the centre has been trying to promote an entrepreneurial atmosphere within the young minds through extension activities in schools, colleges, and villages in various districts.
The inaugural session keynote speaker, Dili Khekho, Proprietor of D/Cafe, dwelt on the issues of educated unemployed youths and emphasized the importance of embracing creativity and innovation.
The first session also featured a panel discussion with Benthungo Kithan, BAN Executive member & Convenor, Standing Committee (MSME); Thungdemo Ovung, Managing Director of Bio Dynamics; Imliwapang, Proprietor of MOK EXPRESS; Zakietsono Jamir, Founder of Coffee Lady; and Imtisunep Longchar, Director of ilandlo Services Pvt. Ltd, as panellists.
The discussion provided aspiring entrepreneurs with a realistic view of the journey, covering key decisions, strategic pivots, and lessons learned along the way, the release said. Tiatemjen Jamir, Secretary of Nagaland Organic Konnect (NOK), moderated the session.
Six panellists, comprising Dr. Ilang, Joint Director of the Directorate of AH&VS; YK Shohe, Assistant Director of KVIC; Jianthailung, Branch Manager of NEDFi; Thongkhulun Khongsai, Branch Manager of SBI; Ikheshe Kahoto, Assistant Director of the Department of Industries & Commerce; and Imtisangla Jamir, Senior Officer of the Credit Outreach and Facilitation Unit, IDAN, discussed “The Future of Start-Ups” in the second session.
The discussion, moderated by Prof. Malini B Sharma, Member of the Monitoring Committee, STINER, saw each panellist providing insights into the landscape of financing options and how entrepreneurs can leverage them for growth. It also explored various financial programmes, support schemes, and funding opportunities available to small businesses and early-stage ventures.
The session ended with Prof KK Jha, Member of the Monitoring Committee, STINER-TFC, encouraging entrepreneurs to lead the way in shaping a dynamic and sustainable future. The rapporteurs of the event were Dr Mary N Odyuo, Associate Professor, Department of Agricultural Extension, and Vipin Arya, Assistant Professor, VSSD, NN-SAS.
Seven batch-type circulation driers were handed over to the potential beneficiaries at the event.
As per the release, student representatives with faculties from SFS Higher Secondary School (HSS), King David HSS, Government HSS Medziphema, Mount Mary College, Modern College, Platinum College, Living Bible College, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous), C-Edge College, Unity College, and Tetso College, along with undergraduate students of SAS, NU, attended the event. A total of 285 participants attended the Entrepreneurs Meet.
