Dimapur, March 25 (MExN): The WC, NNPGs on Friday said that it has received appeal “verbally and through written” from the business community as whole and individual entrepreneurs in and around Dimapur Town “to identify and round up dubious characters coming wave after wave demanding tax and financial assistance in the name of Akato Chophy.”
The WC, NNPGs through the Media Cell stated that “there is no NSCN Akato either in the eyes of GoI nor for Nagas. Only those under ceasefire with the GoI and having conducted transparent political negotiations deserve people's benevolence and contribution to take the issue to a logical conclusion.”
It reiterated that the NSCN (R) led by Y Wangtin Naga, Chairman and P Tikhak, General Secretary is partnering WC in the political talks with the GoI. “They have severed all ties with Akato Chophy for his insatiable appetite for position, fame and money. His termination from Naga National service was officially declared and therefore, using NSCN nomenclature to collect tax forcefully is a crime. Not a penny is deserving,” it stated.
Meanwhile, it asserted that the WC, NNPGs will co-ordinate with Dimapur tribal bodies, aggrieved local and non-local entrepreneurs to “apprehend the criminals in the garb of Naga National workers. As a people endorsed platform, WC will severely punish those forcefully squeezing the business outlets. They will be caught and be dealt with.”
